Free Montserrat Yoga Event This Saturday!

What's the BEST Way to Spend Your Saturday?! Taking care of your health while getting outside and celebrating International Day of Yoga!

Did you know that June 21st was International Day of Yoga? Worldwide this event is celebrated during the month of June and in honor of this, Montserrat will be holding its own special event this Saturday, June 24th from 5:15-6:30pm at the St. Peter's Church Recotory. This is a FREE Sunset Yoga Class. The Rectory park is located across the street from Scuba Montserrat Dive Shop and JavaLava Coffee Shop, on the beautiful grassy area where St. Peter's Day is normally held! The Theme this year is:

"Yoga for Health"

Who is this event for?
The Old
The Young
Men
Women
The Stiff
The Flexible
People who want to try yoga for the first time
Peoplw who have been doing yoga for years
Anyone who cares about their health, (and let's face it- we all should)
Everyone on Montserrat!!!

What to Expect:

Class will be starting at 5:30, so come about 5:15 or so to find your spot next to friends, chit chat and get settled in.

Unlike excercise classes, Yoga works to connect the mind and body using the breath. Instead of going as hard as you can in a pose or action, your movements and your breath move together. Don't worry, this doesn't mean that your muscles won't be working, it just means that there is more to it than a flat stomach. ;)

Class will involve some standing, some stretching and some relaxation poses.

What to Bring:

  • A yoga or exercise mat if you have one, a towel if you do not
  • You will not need shoes or socks... its a barefoot thing!
  • It is suggested that you don't arrive with a full belly. Leaving 1hr. to digest food before class is a good idea.
  • A friend
  • A good attitude and a smile
